Valentine Aphrodisiac Cakes
Learn to make the ultimate Valentine treat: aphrodisiac made-from-scratch cakes with award-winning baker Chrysta Wilson of Kiss My Bundt bakery and leading aphrodisiac foods authority Amy Reiley, author of Fork Me, Spoon Me: the sensual cookbook.
The class will begin with a sparkling wine reception. Then after a demonstration by Wilson on how to make moist, delicious cakes every time, students will be given a foundation recipe, Wilson's "blank canvas" for creating new cake flavors. Reiley will present the group with an array of ingredients with both folkloric history and scientific evidence of their aphrodisiac powers. Then students, in groups of no more than 5, will develop their own "love cake" flavor and frosting using the potent aphrodisiac ingredients.
Students will take home a packet of baking tips as well as information on cooking with aphrodisiacs and a box of " love cakes."
Participants should come ready to cook and may want to bring an apron.
Both Reiley's cookbook Fork Me, Spoon Me and Wilson's Kiss My Bundt Cookbook will be available for purchase.

A Valentine Cocktail Affair

Sample a preview of recipes from The Love Diet, the upcoming book by Amy Reiley and Juan-Carlos Cruz (out in June 2010). A pre-Valentine's affair, join aphrodisiac foods expert Amy Reiley and Food TV Calorie Commando Juan-Carlos Cruz to sip fine wines and sample an array of dishes from the collaborators' new cookbook. Class participants will actually be tasting works in progress and will have the chance to experience the evolution of a cookbook.
Guests will be welcomed into Reiley's 700 sq foot private test kitchen for this intimate gathering of aphrodisiac delights. The evening will begin with a wine tasting and recipe pairings by Reiley, a noted wine critic. During the evening, Cruz and Reiley will demonstrate three of the book's recipes.
Guests will have the opportunity to make their own contribution to the book by weighing in on the recipes-in-progress. Become a part of cookbook history!
